May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,

May good luck pursue you each morning and night.

Serve up some corned beef and cabbage and pour the Guinness because it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day! Even if you only have a wee bit of Irish in you, March 17th is a day for everyone to celebrate independence and Irish culture.

Enjoying traditional Irish cuisine is the perfect way to celebrate—as is hitting up your local Irish pub. What’s interesting is that corned beef and cabbage are actually an American tradition; back in the day, Irish immigrants couldn’t afford traditional Irish bacon, so they bought cheaper corned beef as a substitute. Now we can’t imagine St. Patty’s Day without it!

Another St. Patty’s Day tradition is the shamrock, which was called the “seamroy” by the Celts. This was an important symbol in Ireland even in ancient times because it symbolized the rebirth of spring—and that’s definitely something to celebrate in March! There’s also the four-leaf clover, which symbolizes faith, hope, luck, and love.

One of my favorite Irish traditions is drinking Irish coffee. That’s why I love Pot O’ Gold Coffee: it has all the smooth, delicious flavor of Irish cream blended into the coffee itself. Plus, this is one you can drink in the morning—if you want a traditional Irish Coffee with whiskey, you might want to wait until after work!

Pot O’ Gold also makes a great gift for anyone who has a wee bit of Irish in them. I love giving personalized gifts because it really shows thought and care. Holidays are a great time to think of others. I know a few people who absolutely love St. Patty’s Day, so I make sure to take this time to let them know much I appreciate them!

Cheers, and happy St. Patty’s Day!
