Normally you probably wake up at about 7am, start your pot of coffee, and get yourself ready for work without booze ever crossing your mind. But, on March 17th you’re playing a whole new ball game because St. Patrick’s Day is a day that we universally allow a little bit of devilishness in our morning coffee. 

 

Sure, you could go to the store and spend too much on a bottle of Irish Cream or you can try to make the best Irish Cream you have ever tasted right at home. Here’s our favorite recipe:

 

What you will need:

1 cup of light cream (we used heavy cream which made it even richer)

14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk

1 2/3 cup Irish whiskey

1 teaspoon instant coffee

2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon almond extract (but this can be skipped entirely)

 

The process is foolproof, combine all the ingredients in a blender and set it on high for 30 seconds, done. Bottle your new concoction in a tightly sealed container, refrigerate and it should hold for up to 2 months.
