The Ice Cream Diet
14 Nov, 17
Yes, seriously the ice cream diet is a thing, but before you go running for the freezer let us give you the details. Who is the pioneer of this incredible sounding diet? Anthony Howard-Crow, a Colorado resident who decided to eat 2,000 calories a day of ice cream, 500 calories a day of protein supplements, and the occasional alcoholic beverage for 100 days.
He lost 32 pounds… But before you start planning your ice cream diet, Anthony himself said it was a miserable experience. His goal was to show that calories matter more than anything when it comes to your diet, but doesn’t recommend this as a smart or healthy way to lose weight.
Were there any health side effects? Yes and many of them were positive, his blood lipids all improved, with higher HDL cholesterol, lower LDL, and dramatically lower triglycerides. But! By the end of the 100 days, Anthony claimed to have no energy or libido, and didn’t feel like doing anything.
So as interesting as this diet may sound, we suggest something a little healthier.
