In 1765, a chocolatier and a doctor both decided to work together in an old mill to bring their vision to life. First, they ground cocoa beans into a thick syrup. Afterwards, they put the liquid into cake molds with the intention of transforming it into a yummy cocoa beverage. As time passed, with ideas and slight changes from wise chefs like Eliza Leslie, a Philadelphia author of cookbooks, and Sarah Tyson Rorer, the dessert that we’ve grown to love today was finally born. Easily one of the most decadent, enjoyable desserts ever created, chocolate cake is simply divine. Now, thanks to O.
