With the Christmas holiday being right around the corner, Use Less Stuff Day on November 21 is a reminder to us all to use less when shopping and wrapping presents at Christmas time.

Just think about all the tape, ribbons, bows, and gift wrap that get thrown away every year. Some estimates show that trash production in the U.S. goes up by 25%. That amounts to as much as 4 million tons of extra waste in a month!

So what are some ways that you can reduce your trash contribution? There’s the old adage, “reduce, reuse, and recycle,” but if you’d like something more concrete, here are some tips:

  • Lighten up a bit on the ribbons and bows.

  • Keep boxes and lightly handled accessories to reuse next year.

  • Use biodegradable packaging.

Purchase one of our delectable, gourmet gift boxes that is simply-wrapped in minimally wasteful materials you can reuse or recycle. This also saves on time spent wrapping!
