Have Your Rose and Eat It Too

Did you know that when consumed, roses act as a decongestant, anti-inflammatory, and refrigerant? Yes, roses are in fact edible, and they host several health benefits! Here are a few ways that you can snack on the flower of love, along with an amazing rose oil recipe: Rose Jam Rose Harissa Rose Chutney Rose Ice Cream Minted Rosemary Rose cocktail How to Make Rose Oil: Be sure that your roses are free of chemicals. Gently wash them. Boil a few inches of water, then remove from heat. Using either jojoba, grapeseed, or olive oil, pour a cup into a glass jar. Crush a cup of rose petals and put them in the oil. Swirl, don’t shake. Close the jar. Place into hot water. When water cools off, place jar on sunny windowsill. Let it sit for at least 24 hours. Use a cheesecloth and strain the oil.
