English Muffin, or Not?
22 Apr, 21
Have you ever heard of a “toaster crumpet?”
In 1894, a British immigrant to the state of New York by the name of Samuel Bath Thomas invented this flaky pastry. Now known as the English Muffin, it began as a refined alternative to toast in exquisite hotels. (Yes, this means the English Muffin is not a muffin at all!)
Tomorrow brings about the celebration of National English Muffin Day, as well as National Picnic Day. What better way to observe these tasty holidays than to celebrate them both at the same time? Visit a beautiful park and enjoy a delightful picnic alone or in good company. (Don’t forget the English muffins!)
